The Mount Everest Base Camp Trek is an adventure of a lifetime! An awe inspiring trek to the bottom of the worlds biggest mountain at 8,848.86 m, Mount Everest Camp is a 14 day trek which is just the right amount of time to explore the picturesque landscapes of the Everest region and the warm and hospitable culture of the Sherpa people. 130 km trek is a challenge of endurance and will not be easily forgotten in the memory of wanderers. Expect daily walks of 5-7 hours and a sense of adventure.
The trek starts with a nice flight to Lukla (2,860m) which is the initial point of the trek and moves along Sagarmatha National Park, which is part of the UNESCO heritage sites, and is the site of Mount Everest! Along the way, trekkers will be able to enjoy the views of the various small Himalayan settlements and will be able to enjoy the various spiritual sites such as Tengboche Monastery before they reach the tibetan Plateau and the icy Everest Base Camp which is at an elevation of 5,364 m. and is located right at the bottom of the snowy Khumbu Icefall.
Before taking on Everest Base Camp trek, one should know that the trek is moderate to challenging. The trek is long, has steep inclines, and the altitude can often be demanding. Each itinerary has acclimatization days built in to help trekkers adjust to the altitude. All trekkers should have some form of cardio and strength training, in addition to the regular preparation that comes with trekking. It's important to note that Everest Base Camp is a cold trek. Temperatures below 4,000 meters can be extreme and often call for a down jacket and sleeping bag that can survive -15°C.
On the Everest Base Camp trek, the lodgings are basic, family-run lodges known as teahouses, and they provide warm hospitality with great meals including the local Dal Bhat, which is a lentil and rice dish prepared in a variety of ways to invigorate the trekkers after a long day of walking. At higher elevations, it gets quite cold and challenging, especially for some trekkers, and as a result, good preparation is essential for the trek.
There are strict safety protocols that the guides will follow to ensure the safety of the trekkers. There are experienced guides monitoring the trekkers’ oxygen levels and health. The Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the most rewarding treks in the world because of the unique combination of towering peaks, dramatic glaciers, and the personal achievement of trekking through the spiritual culture. It is an iconic trek.

Everest Base Camp is unique in each season. Spring (March to May) provides nice days, cold nights, and great views of the mountains, perfect for trekking. In the Summer/Monsoon (June to August), it is warm and the terrain is green, but rain and clouds can cover the peaks. Autumn (September to November) is the most popular; it is dry, cool, and clear with great views. In Winter (December to February), the nights are very cold, but the trails are quiet, making it suitable for experienced trekkers.
