For those looking for a unique trekking experience in Langtang Valley, located just north of Kathmandu on the border to Tibet, look no further. The Langtang Valley, also known as the Valley of Glaciers, offers an array of breathtaking mountain range views as well as large, rich, and full valleys. The Valle of Langtang is unique as the trek can take you through the National Park of Langtang, where you can experience the dramatic and pristine views of the valleys as well as the diverse flora and fauna of the National Park.
You can find the National Park surrounded by beautiful and tall mountain ranges such as Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, and Ganesh Himal. You will experience the Tamang culture as you trek the valleys, which is one of the most preserved cultures. You will experience the culture through the beautiful villages and monasteries along the trek. You will also be able to explore Tibetan and yak culture as you travel through their pastures.
The Langtang Valley Trek is one of the most challenging adventures you can take in Nepal, and it is important to know the physical requirements before deciding to engage in the trek. In order to take on the trek you must possess a reasonable fitness level. The trek is slighty ajdustable to your levels prior, and it is basic level trekking, as you will be walking for 5 to 7 hours daily. While there will be some steep areas, there will be no need for technical climbing. Proper climatic acclimatization is necessary for these treks. The most acclimatization you will need to partake in will be in areas of Kyanjin Gompa.
Beginning the trek requires the journey to be driven from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (the starting point of the trek). After reaching Syabrubesi, the trek follows the Langtang river and passes through various forests and villages on the way to the Kyanjin Gompa, where the high glacier mountains are. Trekkers will often take an additional day to be able to explore the various surrounding Kyanjin views and glaciers. The trek is usually completed within 7 to 10 days. Hiking Langtang Valley Trek will surely be one of the most rewarding treks. It is full of natural heritages, cultural diversity and Himalaya exploration.
